Users
This page covers admin-only tools in the sayhii portal. It's visible to organization admins, not to regular team members.
The Users page shows everyone in your sayhii environment. Use it to create users, filter and sort the list, view status, and perform actions such as enable/disable, edit, or remove accounts. The total number of people currently in the organization is shown at the top of the page.
Day-One Invitations
The Day-One Invitations section lets administrators send an invitation to people on the roster who haven't started using sayhii yet.
When invitations are sent:
- People who are already registered receive a link to the sayhii portal.
- Imported users who have not registered receive instructions for getting started.
- Each person receives the Day-One invitation only once.
- Running Send invitations again only sends invitations to newly added eligible users.
The section also displays the number of invitations that have been sent, are currently sending, or have failed.
Select Send invitations to start the invitation process for eligible users.
User Information
Each user row shows:
- User — Name and email address
- Role —
UserorAdmin(admins can access the admin portal) - Manager — Manager name (may be blank)
- Department — Assigned department
- Status — A single badge showing Active, Disabled, or Inactive
- Actions — Row-level actions such as enable/disable, edit, or remove
Use the search bar and filters to find users and act on them.
Search
Use the search bar above the list to find a user by name or email.
Filter
Filter the user list two ways:
- Include Disabled Users — Toggle the checkbox above the list to show or hide disabled users (hidden by default).
- Column Filters — Use the
FILTERSicon or the column header menu (three dots) to filter a specific column.
User Actions
Select multiple users with the checkboxes to bulk-assign departments, enable/disable, or delete.
Make Admin
Grant a user administrator access. This is the only way to change a user's application role—it isn't set from the Edit User dialog.
Enable/Disable
Use the Enable / Disable button in the row's Actions to toggle a user's enabled state.
Delete
Click the trashcan icon to remove a user. This disables the account but preserves historical responses; the user will appear as "disabled" in reports.
Edit User
Click a user row (except the checkbox) to open the Edit User dialog and update attributes.
User Name
Edit the user's first and last name.
Manager
In Manager Assignment, choose any loaded user as the manager by typing a name or email to search.
Department
Use the Department Assignment dropdown to search and select a department. When a hierarchy exists, departments are shown with their full path using > as a separator.
Job Function
The Job function dropdown allows an administrator to select the type of work or position associated with the user.
Work Type
The Work type dropdown allows an administrator to identify the user's working arrangement, when applicable.
Application role (User vs. Admin) isn't set from this dialog—use the row-level Make Admin action to change it.
Adding Users
There are two ways to add users:
- Add a User — Add one person at a time directly to the roster.
- Bulk Addition — Add many users at once. See Data Import for the file format and details.
Add a User
Selecting Add a user opens a window for adding one person directly to the organization's roster. Administrators can enter:
- Work email.
- First name.
- Last name.
Send an invitation now — Choose whether the new user receives an invitation as part of the addition. If not selected, the user is still added to the roster and can receive an invitation later through Day-One Invitations.
Select Add to roster to create the user.
Tutorial Video
For a quick overview, check out this short tutorial:
If your organization uses an HRIS integration, users marked terminated or removed in the HRIS will be removed from sayhii automatically. To remove someone locally without affecting HRIS data, disable the user instead of deleting them—deleted users may be recreated by the HRIS sync.
