HRIS Integration
Many organizations use a Human Resources Information System (HRIS) to manage employee information, track organizational changes, and support payroll or IT security needs.
sayhii makes it easy to connect with your HRIS so you don’t have to manage employee lists in two places. By integrating directly, we can keep your user list up to date automatically—including demographics, managers, and department structures that are important for generating insights.
This means less manual work for you—and a smoother experience for your employees.

To connect sayhii to your HRIS, you’ll need an account with permission to access your HRIS’s employee list API (or equivalent). In some organizations, your HR or IT team may prefer to set up a Service Account just for this purpose.
In many cases, it’s just a matter of enabling the right permissions. However, some HRIS providers may require an additional subscription to unlock API access.

Deleting an HRIS connection does not remove any users already loaded into sayhii.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What systems does sayhii support for HRIS integration?
We use a service called unified.to that allows us to connect with many major HRIS providers—including BambooHR, Rippling, HiBob, and more. If you're not sure if your system is supported, just reach out and we’ll help confirm.
What information does sayhii import from our HRIS?
We typically import:
- Employee name and email
- Department
- Manager relationships
- Job title
- Employment status
We do not collect sensitive personal information (like compensation or benefits data). The integration is focused solely on what’s needed to deliver and structure questions meaningfully.
Do we need to maintain the user list manually after integration?
Nope! Once your HRIS is connected, sayhii automatically syncs your user list on a regular schedule. You won’t need to manually update users unless you're overriding HRIS data for a specific use case.
What if an employee leaves the organization?
If they are marked as “terminated” in your HRIS, they’ll automatically be removed from sayhii during the next sync. No extra steps needed.
Who should set up the integration?
Typically, someone from your HR, IT, or People Ops team—someone with admin-level access to your HRIS. If your system supports it, we recommend using a Service Account so that access is stable even if someone changes roles or leaves the company.
Troubleshooting HRIS API Access
If you're having trouble connecting sayhii to your HRIS, here are a few common things to check:
Permissions
Make sure the account you're using has access to:
- Read the employee directory
- View reporting relationships (manager fields)
- Access basic employment metadata (status, department)
In many systems, these are just toggleable permissions for an admin or service account.
Subscription Tiers
Some HRIS vendors restrict API access to certain pricing plans. Check whether your organization has API access enabled in your subscription. If not, your HRIS rep should be able to help upgrade or enable access.
API Tokens / OAuth Setup
Some systems require that you generate an API key or complete an OAuth authentication process. Make sure that step is completed before connecting through sayhii.
